How To Build Your List Fast… (Audio)

If you are a student of mine, or  a student of internet marketing in general, then you know the importance of building a BIG list…

As an online entrepreneur, your list is an asset, and the only true way to develop repeat customers and lasting relationships.   Weather you are building a list of followers, readers, friends, or fans, you are ultimately building relationships.  Even as social media seems to be taking over, I feel that it is important to have your own personal database of past and potential customers that you can market to.

The reason is because you own your personal database… You don’t own your list of facebook friends or followers…

As much as I agree with building a list of fans, and followers on these social media networks, I think that it is equally important to start building something that you can call your own.  Lets face it… Who is to say that when you wake up tomorrow, your facebook and twitter account can’t both be deleted because someone didn’t like your last status update, and reported you as spam?

Now, will it happen?  Probably not, but we honestly can’t say that for sure…

Here is what I CAN say for sure.  If I woke up tomorrow, and all 30,000 plus followers that I have on twitter were gone, and all of my facebook pages and blog were completely gone, I wouldn’t care…  Yea, don’t get me wrong, that would totally SUCK, but it would NOT affect my income, because I have my own list of people that I manage.

I could simply spend half an hour typing up a message and send it out to my email list and explain the situation.  I could tell them that “all of my sites were gone, but I am still here.  Give me a few hours and I would have them back up and running. ” I know this stuff happens…  Why do you think I don’t have a myspace account anymore?  I use to have over 7,000 friends on my account.  I spent 90% of my time building relationships on myspace, and then all of a sudden, I woke up one morning and all of them were gone… (because someone didn’t like the message that I sent them)

It was THAT day that I started really building my list…

I finally realized how important my list was, and that it was truly an asset to my business.  Without it, I was broke.

With that in mind, I decided to conduct a “list building” training, so I called up one of the best list builders in the industry and asked for an interview.  Thankfully, he said yes so we pressed the record button and went to town…

The person that I am talking about is Troy McDonald. He came from the corprate world, where he helped frow his last company by $1 Million per year for 5 straight years.  He walked away from the corprate world and has been working online for over a decade now. He has build personal relationships with people like Frank Kern, and Kirt Christensen.  He as also spoken at the Internet Marketing Super Conference and has been a facilitator for Tony Robbins.
