In case you haven’t heard, my server was hacked last week, and I lost a lot of content, a lot of traffic, and therefore, a lot of money. (Not a fun week for Justin)
But the good news is I got it all fixed, and in the video below, I explain what happened, and how you can prevent the same thing from happening to you. This is a 2 part video, so let me break it down for you like this…
The first 4 minutes or so is just me filling you in on the details of the hack. (What the hacker did, and what you may have experienced as a result of the attack, ect.)
Then I switch over to my computer screen and show you a few things that you can (and should) do IMMEDIATELY to protect yourself. The total process takes about 12 minutes.
The total length of the video is about 16 minutes. (Not a bad investment of your time, considering that it took me a good WEEK to fix it.)
Click the play button below to watch it now.

Justin
In addition to those plugins in the vid I also use Login-lock
which has lots of settings. The setting I use is after 3 times in 1 hour an ip
tries to log on to my site login lock will lock their ip out for an hour, hopefully breaking any brute force tactics.
Sorry for your troubles and thanks for the vid.

My sites are kept on GVO servers in San Antonio, TX. This company also hosts the dedicated servers for all the big name marketers in internet marketing. So I am certain our servers are as secure as possible. I do all the security steps you talk about too.
