Getting Back On Track When You Are Not Getting The Results You Want

No matter what your struggle, getting back on track usually starts with some new information.

But just because you learn something new doesn’t mean it will ever do you any good. In fact, information alone is useless!

For most people, learning new stuff is just a big waste of time!

Why? Because it never gets used, and the only way to benefit from new information is to put it into practice.

“Knowledge Without Action Is Useless”

It’s kinda funny because for the last week or so, I’ve actually been struggling to come up with something to write about here on this blog.  (The reason it’s funny is because I’ve probably got close to 500 hours worth of content that I could have used, but for whatever reason, I just couldn’t decide on the “right” topic.)

Anyways, after a few days or stressing out I finally decided to just stop worrying and pray about it.  I think the fact that my preacher talked about this exact thing, was Gods answer to that prayer.

We all know that 1 + 2 = 3 right?

Well, here is a quick set of thoughts that you can attach to this equation in order to get back on track when you are not getting the results that you think you should be getting.

The “Getting Back On Track Equation”

I’m probably going to be expanding on this topic in the future, but for now, I’ll just give you the equation.

And because I can’t think of a better name, I’m going to call it the “Getting Back On Track Equation”. (stop laughing)

(1) Receive what’s being taught.

(2) Reveal what’s being taught.

(3) Reflect what’s being taught.

Remember, 1 + 2 = 3

Allow me to elaborate…

The “Getting Back On Track Equation” Explained

Receive what’s being taught – Simply put, the more time and effort you put into your education, the better off your results will be. So usually, if you are not getting the results you want, then you may need to ask yourself how much effort you are really putting into your education.  Anybody can watch a video, but if you don’t actually listen to what is being said in that video, then it does you no good.

If a group of people were all presented with life changing content, some of them would never even know it!  Because most people are not receptive when its time to learn. So if you want to get the most out of the educational products you buy, then you must be willing to fully receive the information that you are being taught.

Reveal what’s being taught – This one is pretty simple. After you fully receive the new information, the next step is to go out and reveal to others (and yourself) that you have learned this new knowledge. Put it into practice.  In other words: TAKE ACTION on what you learn.

Reflect what’s being taught – This is the result you get when you receive what you are being taught and reveal that knowledge to others by putting it into practice.  So you might want to use the word REAP instead of REFLECT.

Either way, the message is simple…

Put good in, get good out.  When you give a half hearted effort, don’t expect to get the most out of it. This applies to anything you do in life.

So just like you know that 1 + 2 = 3, also know that getting back on track doesn’t have to be as hard as most people make it. If you RECEIVE what is being taught, and you REVEAL what’s being taught, then you will REAP the full benefits of what’s being taught.

“The Greatest Life Lesson Of All Time”

I believe one of the greatest lessons you can ever learn is this…

It’s not about what you have, but what you DO with what you have.

But I also believe that in order to get the maximum benefit out of that statement, you must look at it from an eternal perspective.  There is so much more that you can take away from this lesson than just the ‘surface level’ stuff that I mention here in this post.

A good starting place for that is by clicking here to watch the full message that inspired me to write this lesson.

I hope you take the time to study this, and get the most out of your life.

Have Fun, Be Blessed!

    Hi Justin,

Thanks for the post here, I have been online a couple years now and I ecaxtly have made some money, in spurts. Mostly from one MLM and a few affiliate opportunities.

But it, making money online, let me know, is possible to do it.

I have spent so much on training, I am information overload going some where to happen, LOL.

Prior to summer I was blogging and doing quite well posting, but somewhere along the way I hit a slump and I am still trying to get out of it.

I let my blogging fall off and just seem to have lost the motivation.

I really am wanting to do something to help the many families that are feeling the pinch in their pocket book doing these trying economic times, then to add their woes, all the bad weather epidsodes our Nation is exeperiencing.

Anyway didn’t mean to cry on your shoulder, but your post kinda pepped me up somewhat, knowing even those like yourself have their down days.

    Thanks Buddy

    Hi Justin,
I watched the “full message” and really enjoyed it. I especially like the statements, ” Every time there is Enlightenment, there is a call to commitment” and ” God never teaches us anything that he means for us to file away as information, He means for us to put it to use for inspiration”. Thanks for the inspiration!

You certainly make me think, Justin.

On the one hand, it’s all about staying focused on your goals and seeing them ALL the way to fruition.  You can only do this by taking the action that we, including me, so often put off for “a better” time.

On the other hand, it’s not about the results at all.  It’s only about knowing that our efforts and works are nothing more than a reflection of our motivating SOURCE.  For many of us, myself included, that Source is God.  For others, it may be something else.  Whatever it is, the real goal is that the results of our dedication have value only to the extent that they illuminate, reflect and glorify the Source from which they come.

I like the focus of your post today Justin. Thanks for dropping by A Camp Host’s Meanderings and leaving comments the past month while we were on our North Carolina Odyssey. It was great to stay in touch though I wasn’t doing much blog reading.

Interesting that I came here to read this today. We studied the Parable of Talents yesterday
Matthew 25:14-30 and it really hit home for me that we are to put into action and use the gifts God gave us on our journey and in doing so abundance will come. However if we hid while in fear we get nowhere. So many people that I work with try a little or spend a lot of time afraid. Small success and achievement leads to wanting more of that feeling. We need to set achievable goal and then keep raising the bar for ourselves but that if we don’t take action to use our gifts we are in some ways letting the Lord down. It was a great way to wake up this morning knowing God wants me to use my gifts to bring abundance to my family and friends. That is keeping me on track.
