test1 How To cloak Your Affiliate Links Who Needs Cloaking Software

Over the last few weeks I have been putting the finishing touches on my new click by click training course called “Internet Income Tutorials“…

It has not been released yet, but I gave a discounted sneak peak to a select few people and so far the feedback has been great.

One person sent me a great question and it was so good, I wanted to make a video and add it to the course…

I originally intended on this to be just for the ones who purchased my course, but I realized that a lot of my blog readers are also doing some affiliate marketing and I didn’t want to leave them out because many people may not know this little trick.

Here is the question that I received in an email:

“Dear Justin,

I wanted to write to thank you for the discount on
your course.  That was very kind of you!
I would have gladly paid your original asking
price for it, but that is not the reason for this
email.

I have followed along with the videos in the
course and in the last week I have my capture page
up and I have already started getting some
subscribers.

I noticed that most of the affiliate links I get
are very long and if i were to receive them in an
email from someone I didn’t know, I would probably
not trust them enough to click on it.

Is this a common concern or is it just me being
paranoid?

Thanks for your time!
Linda”

Although going over to bitly.com or tinyurl.com to shorten your affiliate links is quick and easy, I have found that you can get a much higher click through rate in your emails if you cloak them, so that is what I’m going to show you how to do in this video.

After I posted the first video, I started getting some questions on how to track these links, so you can know the metrics of your business… So me being me, I created another video explaining how I track all of my affiliate links.

See how easy that was, and how it could potentially increase your email click throughs and make you a lot more money?

Nobody wants to click on an “affiliate link” but everyone wants a good “recommendation”…

    Hey Justin,

You are full of nifty little tricks aren't you :)

I always find it interesting when people don't mask, shorten or cloak their affiliate links. As Linda said above, they can be long and often look ugly or salesy.

Usually I've just created a sub-domain from an existing domain that I own followed by a redirect with masking. The way you're doing it though creates a super professional looking domain!

Thanks for sharing yet another pearl of wisdom.

My web site hosting company allows me to redirect to an affiliate through a stealth feature. I purchase a domain and redirect to the sales page but the location bar does not change. Do you think this would work better. The php redirect still shows your affiliate link after your cloaked link is clicked so changing it to your own affiliate link is still possible.

P.S. – Click on my name and you'll see what I mean. It redirects to an affiliate sales page but the location bar doesn't change to the affiliate link.

Hey Justin – this is really great information – particularly if you want to use twitter and you only have 140 characters! Being able to shorten the link gives you more characters to “recommend” your product. I don't know anything about affiliate marketing but wow if you were able to quit 3 jobs in less then 6 months doing it everyone should be looking at doing it! Thanks for the great tutorial.
